Democrat McGuire Outdraws Combined GOP Contenders

February 6, 2008

Today Dianne McGuire’s campaign for State Representative from District 96 begins in earnest after receiving 12,544 votes in the Democratic Primary.

Her opponent will be Darlene Senger who defeated Michael Bowler.  The combined vote total for the Republican candidates was 10,599.

“I’d like to extend my congratulations to Darlene on her primary victory,” McGuire said.  “I would also like to thank the people of Aurora and Naperville who came out and voted yesterday.  I look forward to a spirited campaign.”

McGuire, a local teacher for over 25 years with Naperville School District 203 and a small business owner, looks forward to working with the citizens of Naperville and Aurora and Warrenville as she campaigns.  “As a retired educator, I know from working with children and adults what families in our community want and what they need”, McGuire said.  “I want to deliver legislation that will positively impact their lives.”

Dianne McGuire wants to be the voice in Springfield for the Naperville and Aurora communities.  Issues that will be important to Dianne McGuire as she campaigns in the District will be striving to maintain the educational excellence in Districts 203 and 204, seeking additional funding for our districts to ease the burden on local tax payers, promoting a strong business climate, and demanding the funding to end congestion on Route 59.
